This is no cliched fantasy but an innovative, exciting and moving story with an interesting twist and a deeper theme of overcoming disadvantage and depression
I agree, this is a wonderful book and I loved it!!! I think it's a pity that the other books that follow in the trilogy aren't available in Pakistan! But perhaps we can find them at an Old book shop because the oxford editions aren't the only editions since the book was published in 2004.The story's got an amazing twist and Gillian Cross defines"SUFFERING" in an extraordinary and touching way.
Such a looong comment mariam !!!!!but yeah i quite agree wid most of it !the story's and the plot's really gud and i must say that gillian cross has one imagination but if only she had just left out all the unecessary details........it would've been much better !!!!=P Suheera Tanvir VII_A
You're right, too many details can cause the story to become extremely boring and sometimes lulls the reader to sleep. Last night for example, I was wide awake and thought I should re-read the book again, so I opened it and in less than a minute I was fast asleep!!Details are necessary but not ALL the time, most of the time while reading a book, details are just plain torture and trying to understand them is worse!!!=)
I agree, this is a wonderful book but has unecessary details.it has great....suspense and thrill, interesting twist and takes to an imagnitive world but inthis realty is 2 diffiucult 2 understand.especialy 2 roberts's climaxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THATS allMaham RizwanVII-A

You know what they say, sometimes you get LOST in a good book( or maybe not a good book, depends on how you think of it), especially, THE LOST!!=)

muneeb: i raelly liked this book and this is really adventurous book. It is also very interesting and full of mysteries but i really didnt understand the ending
this book is a really interesting book and it's all about the mystery of a boy. I loved it!!!=)
I read this whole novel just for the ending that how Robert got shrunk? What happened? What will happen next? How they will grow again?but after reading this novel I got none my questions answered.I really like this book because its the only book perhaps in entire world that made mad to know that what will happen next and curious too so for this hats off to Gillian Cross. And that's the reason I m dying to read the next part.Well I love this novel because it have suspense, secrets and the best thing it was a mystery. It different from the others and I will never forget this book in my life.
a boring novel which made our minds lost and have some extra information. ahmed raheel
i kinda like it but not very much.... bcuz in this reality does'nt make sense in this book once there was a small Robert and after there was an other Robert no sense!!!
I hated this book !!!!!! >:-(it made my head hurt very badly and the worst part is that this is coming in the exam and i didn't understand the story at all !!!!!why couldn't Emma, Mom, Zak, Cam or any of the other characters just kill Robert and end the story !!!!!!ROBERT DIDN'T DIIIEEEEE !!!!!!!!WHYYYY ???!!!!Rida-e-Zainab7a
I have all my sympathies for everybody who read this. I used to love this book in the starting.....till i read the ending. And it was very very weird and very crazy. Actually it wasn't crazy, it was silly. Gillian Cross should have made it exciting. Such as fantasize it a bit. It would be nice if Robert could fly and fight with birds. Well, Gillian Cross wanted to teach us a lesson. That we had to live with reality. But I don't think 'shrinking' is part of reality. In short, I'm really confused and I don't get it at all.
It's better than the lastling.........
This book is interesting. And I like this novel.
The Lost is much more complicated than The Lastling.... get more info @ normalbeaconite.blogspot.com
